Woven Woods

Bring the natural beauty of the
outdoors into your home.

Quality woven woods are in high demand because they can complement traditional décor or bring an exotic, tropical feel to any room. Woven woods bring a touch of nature indoors and are an excellent solution for the kitchen, a patio or sunroom. Often referred to as bamboo shades or natural shades, woven woods form the accordion pleats of a roman shade when raised. They are durable and easy to maintain by vacuuming or wiping clean with a damp cloth.

Unlike any other

Because most woven wood shades are made from a combination of natural woods and grasses such as bamboo, reeds, grasses or jutes in various weave patterns, no two are exactly alike. This means that imperfections can be common, as are differences in the way light is filtered. Some woven woods are made of 100% real wood, while others are made of a combination of wood and synthetic materials.

Varieties and optional upgrades

Enhance the appearance and function of your woven wood shades through:
  • Edge bandings. Textured fabrics sewn onto the edge of the shade, and on the valance if there is one, gives the shade a finished look and add rich color tie-ins to a room.
  • Privacy liners. Woven woods are light filtering and do not have a liner, however an optional blackout liner is available to ensure 100% light blockage and privacy.
  • Multiple shades on one headrail. For wide windows, install two or more woven wood shades side by side.
  • Motorized shades. Add function and convenience through motorized tilt and lift systems operated by a switch or remote control.
  • Top-down/bottom-up. Combine the benefits of a bottom-up shade with a top-down shade for maximum versatility. This option uses two sets of lift cords to open either from the top down or from the bottom up, or both at the same time.
  • Continuous cord loop. Working on the principle of a pulley, a continuous cord loop rotates a clutch to raise or lower the shade. The cord tensioner secures to the wall and away from children or pets.
  • Valances. Woven woods are available with or without a matching valance.
